Preply — the language learning unicorn that just closed a $150M Series D — is hiring a Video Editor to join its in-house Creative Studio in Barcelona. 100,000+ tutors teach 90+ languages to learners in 180 countries, and Preply's studio is the team behind its video and motion content, from brand campaigns to product and organic channels.
The Role & Impact
You'll focus on long-form YouTube content, working closely with the studio's cinematographer, motion designers, and Brand, Supply, and Marketing teams to turn raw footage into compelling stories — interviews, tutorials, and talking-head or podcast-style content that puts Preply's learners and tutors at the centre.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own end-to-end editing of medium (5+ min) and long-form YouTube videos (10+ min): structure, selects, and rhythm
- Work independently from brief to locked cut — making first calls on structure, music, and pacing, then reviewing with stakeholders for brand alignment
- Handle the full audio pass: dialogue clean-up and levelling, music selection, simple sound design, and mixing to delivery specs
- Manage colour correction and grading across mixed sources — multiple cameras, screen recordings, archive footage
- Apply motion design templates (lower thirds, captions, end screens, overlays) in After Effects and/or Premiere Pro
- Finish and deliver masters to spec with accurate captions and organised handoffs
- Collaborate with the cinematographer, motion designers, and localization team across review rounds
What You Need to Succeed
- 7+ years as a video editor with a strong long-form portfolio (10+ min): interviews, documentary-style, tutorials, or podcasts
- Strong narrative craft — confident calls on structure and pacing from raw footage with minimal oversight
- Solid audio post skills: dialogue editing, music selection, basic sound design, and mixing
- Premiere Pro fluency is a must; working knowledge of colour correction and motion graphic templates
- You already use AI in your workflow to move faster
