Product Manager, Smart Metering & Billing Engine (metrify) — Enpal, Berlin, Germany
Enpal — Germany's first green unicorn — wants a solar system on every roof, a storage unit in every house, and an electric car in every garage. metrify is Enpal's smart metering unit: the digital infrastructure for a smart energy ecosystem, with tens of thousands of iMSys units installed and scalable processes that make energy measurable, controllable, and economically viable.
The Role & Impact
Enpal is looking for a Product Manager to join the Metrify Smart Metering team and take end-to-end ownership of core internal data products — including the Customer Data Model and the billing & pricing engine. You'll build the internal infrastructure other teams and products depend on: from a unified customer identity model to accurate, auditable billing logic.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Customer Data Model: identity hierarchy design (customer → order → metering point → measurement), data consistency, and governance across systems
- Drive the roadmap for the billing and pricing engine — translating regulatory requirements (e.g. MaKo, EDIFACT) and commercial pricing logic into reliable, scalable calculation and invoicing capabilities
- Turn operational and regulatory requirements into clear PRDs, data models, and actionable user stories for Engineering
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Customer Care to make sure the data foundation supports accurate billing, reporting, and downstream use cases
- Define and track success metrics: data quality, billing accuracy, system reliability, and reduction of manual workarounds
- Gather continuous feedback from internal teams to find gaps in the data model and pricing logic, then prioritise fixes and enhancements
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years in product management on B2B or infrastructure products with internal users
- Experience navigating complex domains involving regulation and systems integration, driving the roadmap with internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with API design and integrations; energy markets, smart metering, or regulatory processes are a plus
- Clear communication in English (German is a plus)
